It's fuckall cold this morning in a lot of places.
Was six below when I woke up with a feel of about -30. Hows the feel in your neck of the woods?

Currently only feels like -2 Celsius here in Ottawa. Not too bad, honestly.

Earlier this morning, it was -7 where I am in Southern Colorado. I heard that Gunnison was 23............weird.

It's 45 here.... I really wish it would hurry up and get colder, though. It's at that uncomfortable temperature where I always wake up sweaty because it stops being cold enough for all my blankets an hour before my alarm.

Downright freezer for me. I cannot stand the cold. I drive with my car heater at 90.

30 degrees Fahrenheit or there about. Sorry man that is some shitty weather.

Wow, that's pretty toasty!

I'm in Denver too, so fucking cold. But the mountains did get blasted so that's good, can't wait to go ride.

Could be worse I suppose.

The cold came on late this year! Usually we have snow before Halloween

That's a pretty nice feel there :)

Yeah. Next week it's going to get colder, but this is the warmest it's been at this time of year in the past three years I've been here, if I recall correctly.

Meh, its like 40-something here in DC. I can't wait for snow.

Fuckin' Flaw'da

Wow, now that's cold.
Never been big on the feels thing: wind chill is a horseshit statistic and has about zero scientific value. "Feels like -35 degrees" is a whole lot more dramatic than zero with brisk winds.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 10:47 |

Heck yeah, those are some downright positive numbers!
![]() 11/13/2014 at 10:48 |

yeah, but this is the weather I like (taken last month). It was 88 degrees last week. I miss that. =(

Grew up in temps like that. Can't do it. Any more, I bitch and moan if it gets over 85.

I'm in Dallas and it is 32 farhenheit. not as cold as Colorado, but still sucks

Bringing some UK temps. around high 50's in Fahrenheit today.

And people say the desert doesn't get winter LOL.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't happen so awkwardly. Even seeing it coming didn't help. 70 degrees on Sunday and Monday, Sub-zero and blowing snow Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday , 50 degrees tomorrow.

Nice!

Lived there for a few years. From what I remember, Albuququequreruqeuqureuq residents can handle snow better than Denverites.

Really? I always see people doing dumb stuff in the snow but I have never been to Denver in the winter.

We're a bunch of overconfident morons up here.

Oh I don't know, I expected to see a lot more crashes the last couple of days, but I've only seen a couple. And the one person who cut me off and left me no space to stop had Michigan plates.

well you beat us. Last winter we bore the brunt of these arctic blasts. You can have it.

There's a stoplight at a hill right outside my office. I spent the better part of yesterday morning staring at it, keeping tally of what vehicles couldn't make it. It was mesmerizing.

Our overnight low went to -11 F, breaking the 98 year old record. Right now, it's sunny and back up to 3 F. Combined with a light powder snow since Monday for about 6"-7", it's gorgeous outside. Truck and Jetta both started fine and their tires and drivelines are working well. Roads are quite good, given the weather. Even the traffic and drivers aren't bad, which is truly surprising. With CU Boulder and the Front Range economy pulling in new people from no-snow places every year, the first snow is usually a lot of carnage. This time, though, people did really well. I saw a few mistakes, but none of the rampant, widespread, over-the-top stupidity that usually comes out with the ice. I'll take it, it's nice to catch a break once in awhile.
I did have to jump start my neighbor's BMW, but it wasn't the cold that killed it. She had left the lights on due to Daylight Wasting Time and her commuting to too much work and too many classes. Nice of the Bavarians to put the battery in the trunk. It was easier and faster to get to, which was good without gloves in those temps.

It's just over freezing in Portland and school is cancelled because there's a bit of ice on the ground.
